KATE ATHERLEY est auteure, une enseignante et une éditrice de tricot de renommée internationale. Son dernier livre, Custom-Fit Hats, est son neuvième et le quatrième d'une série sur la personnalisation des projets pour obtenir une coupe et un style parfaits. Elle est également cofondatrice et éditrice de Digits & Threads, un magazine en ligne indépendant, subventionné par ses adhérents, qui traite des arts, de l'artisanat et de l'industrie des fibres et des textiles au Canada. Elle vit à Toronto avec son mari et leur chien Winnie.

Rowan Kidsilk Haze. "It’s beautiful and warm and delicious. Plus, it’s surprisingly useful! Yes, it looks great in fine lace shawls, but I get a lot of use out of it making winter accessories for truly terrible weather. I love double-stranding it with sock yarn to make extra-warm and extra-hardwearing socks. And I use it for all my mittens and hats, too, double-stranding it with whatever other yarn I’m using. The fibre blend brings warmth and the halo fills up the tiny gaps in the stitches to stop those Canadian winter winds blowing through."
