Elder Throw Knit Along 2020 | Release One
Garter Stitch Mitred Squares are the topic of our first video tutorial for the Elder Throw Knit Along. To begin, Lisa demonstrates how to create the characteristic right-angled stripes by decreasing on alternate rows. Next, she shows us how to pick up stitches to join the squares of the blanket together. You'll use thirteen beautiful shades of Rowan Felted Tweed as you knit 25 of these stripy squares and begin to put together the foundation panels of your Elder Throw.
Ask any Rowan fan for their favourite yarn and there's a good chance it'll be Felted Tweed. Spun in a light DK weight, with a beautiful tweed effect and an amazing 40 colours to choose from, it's a Fair Isle knitter's dream. But that's not all. The magical combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes it supremely blockable and a gorgeous option for lacework as a result.
