The fourth pattern release of Lisa Richardson's Elder Throw is for Mitred Squares, knitted in the round from the centre. In this video tutorial, Lisa will demonstrate a reliable way of starting off the squares that ensures a solid foundation for the centre. Each of these squares are worked independently from the rest of the blanket, so have a look at the accompanying diagram for this pattern release to see where they should be sewn in place. This video tutorial also includes instructions for how to sew backstitch and mattress stitch, so that you can be sure of beautifully neat seams!

Ask any Rowan fan for their favourite yarn and there's a good chance it'll be Felted Tweed. Spun in a light DK weight, with a beautiful tweed effect and an amazing 40 colours to choose from, it's a Fair Isle knitter's dream. But that's not all. The magical combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes it supremely blockable and a gorgeous option for lacework as a result.
